The Delaware Trail Spinners would like to invite all mountain bikers in Delaware, Pennsylvania,
Maryland, New Jersey and other areas to a group ride at Fair Hill. Let's all get together to share
our enthusiasm for the sport and willingness to help each other in building and maintaining
multi-use singletrack in the Mid-Atlantic area.
The date is Sunday, November 2, and the location is the Gallaher Road parking lot at Fair Hill
NMRA.
Registration will be held from 9-10 AM with the rides beginning at 10 AM and lasting for about
2-3 hours. Members of the Trail Spinners will serve as personal guides for small groups of riders
(approx 8-10) to show you some of the best and most beautiful single track in the mid-Atlantic
area. e DTS guides will tailor the speed and distance of the ride to suit each group. Distances
flexible but usually will run between 10 and 20 miles. We'll provide bail-out points or give directions
to anyone who may need to head back to the parking lot early.
Finally don't forget about our picnic after the ride. row some burgers, dogs, a couple of tubs
potato salad, whatever into the cooler and bring them along. Don't forget your favorite beverages
and something warm to change into after the ride. DTS also will have plenty of extra food available.
So don’t worry too much if the refrigerator turns up empty of Jamboree day. We'll probably
start grilling around 1-2 PM. DTS will have grills set up for your use. But it wouldn't hurt to bring
a small grill with some charcoal if you have one. Also bring some chairs unless you want to sit on
the ground. As an added incentive to attending, we have an entertainment committee hard at work
coming up with some fun things to do during the picnic and social time after the ride.
For folks with families, Fair Hill is a great place for hiking, trail running, geo-caching, equestrian
activities (but bring your own horse) and lots of other outdoor fun.
