MOUNTAIN BIKING 101

The Trail Spinners of Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania would like to introduce you to mountain biking on local trails in White Clay Creek and Lums Pond State Parks in Delaware, and Fair Hill Natural Resources Management Area in Maryland.   This is a free program open to anyone over 10 years old.  The goal is to teach riders how to safely ride off road and enjoy the hundreds of miles of trails nearby.  Each training session will start off going over basic bike setup, equipment choices, trailside repairs, and trail etiquette.  Demonstration and practice of basic mountain bike riding skills will be covered next.  All participants will be encouraged to join a ride led my experienced mountain bikers on “beginner level” trails.  The ride will be adapted to match the needs and abilities of the participants.  Routes of various lengths and difficulties at all three parks are available.  We will stop at various points along the route to discuss riding techniques and work on riding skills.

Our first event will be Saturday, April 9th 1-3pm at Fair Hill’s Gallaher Rd lot.  Bike Line of Newark will be our sponsor.

If you know of anybody new to riding, please encourage them to come out to one or more of these events.
