Oh glorious day! The race is on. It's 12:18am on Friday, the day before the race and here I am trying to finish up some things so that you can all have a great experience on Saturday, August 29, 2015.
There so many amazing people behind this event. Please take the time to thank the volunteers when you see them. None of us profit from this race. Instead, the community does. We do this so that we can raise funds in support of advocacy, trail building, trail maintenance, education programs, and much more.
Enough of that, here's the info you need:
If you've pre-registered, you still need to check in and sign the waiver. You'll be doing that at Walls Hall. If you haven't registered but would like to race at the Fair Hill Classic, show up to the registration building during the posted registration times:
Endurance: 7:00 to 7:30
Cat 2: 7:45-8:15
Pro & Cat 1: 9:00-9:45
Cat 3: 10:00 - 11:15
Novice: (1st time racer) 11:00 - 11:45
Kids race: any time before 11:00-12:00
You can only register for each category during the posted times. 7-7:30am is ENDURANCE only. 7:45-8:15am CAT 2 ONLY. Get it? Got it? Good... don't be that person. Nobody likes that person. I'd be afraid if I were that person.
Pre-registered racers look for the row containing the first letter of your last name. Those that have not pre-registered look for the sign that reads, "Day of Registration." You will be filling out a registration form and a waiver (two sided form).
Cat 2: 8:45am
Cat 1: 10:15am
Cat 3: 11:45am
Parking: Team parking by reservation only. Your team directors have received instructions.
General parking: Follow the instructions of the attendants as you enter the Fair Grounds area. The red dotted line is how you drive to the event parking. The green dotted line shows how you walk/ride to the start line. The other stuff is obvious... the registration building is the building above the word "REGISTRATION."
Please keep your pets at home for this one.
This is a huge event and the temperatures are expected to be toasty. Make sure you hydrate but if you chose an adult refreshment, let's make sure we use red cups. Red cups are so much cooler anyways...
Fair Hill is a park we love and protect. Please carry in and carry out. Management was impressed by the fact that you left ZERO garbage on the grounds. Let's make sure that it stays the same this year.
It's not a right but a privilege to ride at Fair Hill. Let's be sure to be courteous and also thank the rangers and volunteers alike.
Have a blast! Thank you for racing with us!!!
