TRAIL CONDITIONS

The park had more rain this morning with forecasts for rain almost every day this week.  Crews are out clearing trees and logging in trail erosion and other issues.  This is where you can help for the next few days.  Anybody who can help walk through trail sections and make notes on trees across the trails and other new erosion issues should proceed to one of the Four "exterior" parking lots (not the covered bridge lot) and hike trails and log issues.  Report these to either the Park Office at 630 Tawes Drive, Elkton, MD 21921or send details to fairhilltrails@dnr.state.md.us.  Volunteers are encouraged to use hand saws or loppers to clear trails and also remove small debris that may interfere with bicycle operation but Chain Saws are not to be used by volunteers in MD parks.  Thanks in advance for your help, Bob
